Default 2012 JKU Centerforce Clutch?

I’m installing a Centerforce dual friction clutch with high inertia flywheel on my 2012 JKU. Centerforce doesn’t really have any directions for their products besides pressure plate bolt torque. My OEM flywheel had dowel pins, the center force flywheel has holes for dowel pins but the pressure plate doesn’t. Has anyone installed this in their 3.6 L pentastar, I just put the alignment tool through the clutch and torqued on the pressure plate. I’m waiting to stab the tranny Back in until I get some feedback.

If you haven't installed it yet, would consider returning it. I had two and neither lasted or worked well. Very hard to shift. Last time I was even in Sedona and went by to see them in person (Prescott). Extremely unhelpful and just dismissed me. They told me if I wanted warranty repair, they would put me on a list and get me reviewed in about a month. I could not wait. Emailed the CEO and never heard back.

I would go Mopar. I know that's not the thing to say, but there are certain things that no one but Mopar has enough time/research with to really get it right. Centerforce makes clutches for a lot of cars, so barely any focus on Jeep. This is one reason no paperwork. I put Mopar back in and it's like butter. Dealer told me Chrysler had basically made their mistakes and got the clutch to a place where it always performs as expected.

I think this maybe the only thing Mopar I have replaced on Jeep, except maybe the O2 sensors. Everything else is aftermarket on my 2010 JKU.

Just my thoughts.

not sure how you reply on this site,I’m totally a newbie, LOL. I already bolted it up, guess I own it now, I’m gonna get the OEM fly wheel turned and new dowel pins installed, if the center force fails I put an OEM back in and burn them mercilessly online.

I also have had issues with my center force dual friction clutch. The issue I had was clutch would not fully disengage so I couldn't shift in to first gear at a stop. I either had to down shift to first before stopping or turn off engine put in first and restart engine. Center force kept saying they never heard of this issue and it was a likely the slave cylinder or clutch master cylinder and not their clutch kit. I replaced every hydraulic part for the clutch system with no difference as I thought because I didn't have an issue with the stock clutch. I just upgraded because of lift, tires and added weight. I made the mistake of tossing the stock fly wheel and everything so I had to Buy a whole new fly wheel, clutch kit and pull the transmission out and replace with stock parts. Center force then stopped responding to me and would not call me back after I did everything they said/suggested. Bottom line is I have a useless 100lb box of parts I cant use that I wasted like 800$ on. Just wanted to give everyone I can a heads up before they end up in the mess I had with center force.

Default Finally got a hold of Centerforce.

Thanks for the responses, I bought this clutch from extreme terrain and the reviews were basically five star, let’s just say the got a. 2 star from me! So the dowel pins aren’t necessary and if you don’t have your stock flywheel you can take the high inertia flywheel into a machine shop, press in dowel pins and then run an OEM pressure plate and clutch. I have kept my OEM flywheel but for a different reason. It turns out a lot of people have had issues with 1st/Reverse issues and it seem to be that the heavier flywheel can can cause binding on the pins for 1st and reverse. Some people have issues other don’t but the fix seems to taking that flywheel out! I installed this damn thing, I own it now.

Default Anyone out there like their Centerforce clutch?

I’ve got plenty of negative feed back on Centerforce and their dual friction clutch but does anyone have a good experience, is there any hope? I changed all the clutc parts, pivot ball, pivot ball spring, clutch fork, T.O.B just like they recommend I found all this bad info while trying to figure out if I needed dowel pins, it’s got me worried.
