Someone is selling an unused 2016 JK soft top with hardware and I wondered if it would fit my 2012 JK.
Its a great price and I’d like to grab it, but I’m not sure it would work.

There's a sticky post around here somewhere, but I can't seem to find it. has answers to all top related questions. Important things to note. The soft top itself, and all the associated frame and hardware have to be from the same year, not necessarily the same year as your Jeep, just the top. When buying from an online marketplace, it is important to get ALL of the hardware. if anything is missing, you'll eat up your savings by having to source all the tiny little missing parts.

 

Yes, a 2016 soft top with hardware should fit on a 2012. Just look up soft tops on quadratec, or a like site and you will see the tops grouped together in years 2007 to 2018. This represents the JK and JKU years. Though 2018 was a crossover year with both the JK and the JL available.
