I saw a few days ago a hi-lift mount that attaches to the tailgate black plastic pieces... I though it was by rough country. For the life of me I can't find the post, by search or otherwise.

there is another option and thats on the hood hinges, the strong part of the jk hood, I've seen this in person and it is definately solid and no drilling.

No, that thread isn't what I was talking about. It wasn't using the Hi-Lift mount that you can get now, it's a new product by rough country I believe. It somehow attaches to the plastic on the tailgate hinges. It mounts in the same place as what was in that thread though.

The Hi-lift kit is from Rampage, however it is supposedly still in the final pre-production stage.
