Default Home Made Bumpers

I really need a winch and winch bumper, but I cannot really afford both. Therefore I am debating on building a winch bumper.

So my question is for those who have built their own bumpers; did you incorporate a skid plate on the lower side (usually for the e-disco)? If you did, was it a bolt on or welded together?

And of course, pics are always welcomed.

Thanks

I cut that lower bar off. It serves no purpose on the X or Sahara, and mine was already bent.

Actually, it does on mine b/c I have the E-Disco on my Unlimited X. This is the primary reason I was asking about the skid plate.

Very nice bumper, thanks for the picture.

Any close-ups of the bar-chop? Did you just cut the bar off, Or did you cut it flush with the cross member?

Bolted on. I have an X so I didn't need it for my e-disco's. It works great though to protect a winch. It it just way too much trouble to get through everything in a parking lot.
