It would void the warranty on the diffs. If Crappler determined it was the cause of another failure such as the tcase, they may refuse to repair the tcase under warranty for example. It would come down to cause and effect.

You are not going to get anything clarified in this thread. If you asked 10 dealers this question, you will get 9 answers.

Planman, What gear ratio are you running. I will have the same lift and same size tire in a matter of weeks. I have 4:10's

Yes. If you do not recalibrate your speedometer, you ENTIRE lifetime warranty can be voided due to inaccurate mileage. I believe that is the only reason the entire warranty can be voided. Of course, even if you regear and you DO recalibrate the speedo, the gears you install will not be warranted by Chrysler. All of the remaining warranty will remain in effect as long as you do a recal on the speedo.

Now I am confused. If I move up to 35's and don't calibrate the speedometer then my warranty is voided? Is that that how I am reading this or is it if I dont calibrate after regearing?

If you dont coorect for gear/tire changes it could void the warranty because your odometer is not correct.

Also, the gears may be less of a problem than the lift and tires. They may void some of your driveline warranty because the larger tires put more stress on the drivetrain.

Just to clarify a misconception - the GEAR swap does NOT affect the speedo/odometer/make it read wrong.

The tire diameter WILL affect the speedo/odometer/make it read wrong.

Bottom line - any mod has to be PROVEN to have CAUSED the warrenty claim, to have the warrenty claim be invalid.

WAAAAY back, I had a Stealership tell me that they would not honor the repair of my horn because I had "Voided my Warrenty" when I had installed an FM Converter.

I said, prove to me HOW the horn doesn't work because of the FM Converter, because if you can't PROVE it, you HAVE to fix the horn.

They fixed the horn.

How can the gear swap NOT change the speedometer? Is the speed sensor for the speedometer on an axle? Seems like that would be the only way. I believe it's in the transmission, is it not? If so, the driveshaft speed will certainly be faster at the same speed with deeper gears, resulting in a faster speedometer reading. Changing the tire size in effect does the same thing. While it doesn't affect the actual gear ratio, it does change the effective ratio.
