BB Lift vs Coil spring lift
I have noticed that many jk out there are being lifted with the teraflex 2.5" BB and then adding a spacer.
I am looking into lifting my 4D JK and was looking at some lift that were 3-4" high with springs.
so the question is what is better, BB lift of the coil spring lift? whats the difference in performance? or is the BB more for looks?

You get what you pay for..
But BB still does pretty good off road, here's a video of my Rough Country 2,5"BB off- road... http://youtube.com/watch?v=0ow0-ISSYqw

My opinion, for whatever it is worth.
I think the BB's are great for those looking for just a couple of inches and don't want to spend a fortune. Springs are better for the larger lifts and for those who want to go larger down the road, as you can add control arms and such later.
There is no blanket statement that one is better than the other as each person uses their Jeep different and each person has a different plan for how it will be 3-4-5 years from now.

generally, a BB is good like the others say for a few inches of clearence, or looks, or the "budget part of it. I had a 2 inch budget boost before my 4 inch springs. Hard core off roading, you will see that the springs will give you more ability to articulate, as the bb will only allow the same articulation as the stock springs, regardless of height. longer springs will naturally allow more movement.
I think that aside from extreme off roading, you will most likely not be able to see much of a difference. The advantage to a BB over springs, is the only thing you change is ride height, as you already know the ride quality and that will not change, naturally since you are using the same springs. Beware of shocks though. I used some pro comp shocks on a bb in my TJ and got a horrible ride. Hated the shocks. For my JK, I went with 2 inch BB and kept the stock shocks, which worked good, except I was frustrated with it in extreme off roading, which is why I changed to springs and Rancho shocks.
bottom line, for looks, a little clearance and a smaller lift (less than 3 inches) a bb is good. Higher than that and springs, shocks, track bars, controll arms etc. may be required, changing the equation radically.
Have fun.
