I have to admit, after seeing what the front of the JK looks like without a front bumper, I'm kinda interested to see how this bumper will get bolted on especially since it tappers in and has D-Ring mounts right where the factory mounting point are.

Oh, you'll get no arguments from me here. I'm just not sure how you could make it work especially when the front bumper attaches to 4 bolts on the front end of each frame rail. I'm not saying that it can't be done, I just don't know how. But then, I'n not a manufacturer either

Okay everyone, I spoke with Expedition One and have since invited them to respond directly to the questions being asked here but to keep to the Q&A's only. Please do not ask them about pricing or to compare their product against other maufacturers.

Hi, I'm James. I did the designing of the bumper. If you guys have any questions let me know, I'd be happy to answer any for you....

To answer a few of the questions so far:

No we don't have a JK yet, were not quite that cool . Were hopeing to get a hold of one in about a week or so, just waiting for the order to come in....

We used CAD drawings from JEEP in order to get the dimension correct. The Drawing your looking at is kinda rough because I actually made it when they first introduced the JK at the Detroit Auto show.... I used pictures and press release material to get everything pretty close, in order to start designing, then once they became availible we refined and corrected our drawing with the OEM drawings...

Just to explain the mounting system a little, it uses the main 8 bolts on the front face plates of the frame, along with 4 other mounting points that are along the frame, just in front of the grill..... and the recover shackle mounts are integreated directly into the main mount that attaches to the front of the frame....

3/16 which in reality is 7gage sheet which = about .179".

The theoretical weight on it right now is inbetween 105 and 110lbs... We'll try and try trim it down a bit when things become more finalized...
