Default Installing Oil Pressure Gauge

I've seen posts discussing locations for the gauge but have never installed one myself.
Has anyone figured out where and how would be the best way to accomplish tying the gauge in on this engine?

Any mechanics out there?
I'm looking to install a real pressure gauge, not one that's indicating 'yah-I sense some oil'

I think he's asking where on the motor, not the dash. I'm curious too, I'm ready for some real guages. Anybody have the service manual that can tell us where on the motor to put the sending unit?

Just replace the exsisting sending unit with one for your gauge. You may need to retap the hole but it isn't difficult.

OK, then what will the computer think when it's not getting the expected signal?

It would be nice if someone manufactured a pillar pod for additional gauges

This is one of the things that annoy me about the JK. The TJs' had all 4 gauges, but we only have 2.

Can anyone with a service manual tell me where the factory oil pressure sensor is located if there is one? There is nothing around the oil filter.

According to the manual:

"The engine oil pressure switch is located on the timing cover, in front of the engine. The normally closed switch provides an input through a single wire to the low pressure indicator light on the instrument cluster."

From the description it shouldn't affect the computer.
