URGENT HELP - TF BB and coil spring
Hi All, please tell me if I can really re-insert my factory coil springs after putting in the teraflex 2.5 inch spacer and bump stops. I feel like I lowered my axle as far as it goes and there is no way I can get my springs in....any advice????
This is urgent as I need to have everything reassemble by tomorrow night and I can't seem to find a spring compressor at local stores.....but it is Friday night after business hours...
Other than that....everyting is going great for this newbie and I'm having fun

Did you disconnect the sway bar and shocks? You can also loosen the transmission skid if you have an automatic. You may have to disconnect the front drive shaft, but usually not. You can also use a jack on the opposite side to raise that end of the axle to give more space on the side you are working on.

what robar said. if you have an auto, your front driveshaft is most likely getting hung up on the auto tranny skid. using an 18mm, remove the 3 bolts securing it to the frame and that will allow your axle to drop more.
X3 on dropping the auto skid, and also make sure your jeep is blocked up high enough to allow the floor jack to drop the axle low enough. Remember to unbolt your brakelines from the frame and unhook the abs/esp lines from the brakelines to allow more slack.

After doing all these things, don't be shy about getting under the axle, shove the top of the spring in, and then just pushing up hard with your hands on the spring. You can get some compression with your biceps.

And with all this advise. I did ot see a single mention of making sure the antilock wire was not stretched and damaged! Not to mention the brake line.
Now, I haved an auto unlimited rubi.On the rear I droped the axel as far as it would go. Removed the elect wire at the gromett to give it just a little more room. Using a couple of those flat wreaking bars levered the springs in. The rear was easy!
The front, same as the back with a couple of changes.
Put the bumpstop into the coil. Put the coil in position and again use the flat crow bars for leverage and gently compress spring and wiggle into position. It will take a few attempts to get angles right so things don't slip, but its not hard. Once the spring is in. Make sure the bottom coil end is positioned properly. Then, with the same flat crow bars, lever the bump stop up till it pops in place. Lube it up with a little soap and water, or I used simple green. It makes it very slippery. Oh, You probably should jack up that side of the axel a little to help in poping the bumpstop into place.
Very simple, do drive shaft removal, no skid plate dropping ect.
The Tf instructions leave a little to be desired (sorry Joe) but there is an on line JK site that gives you step by step and great pictures.
Don't forget to torque everything, and replace the rubber gromets on the anti lock stuff...
Good luck..
