Default High Speed Vibration with Tera 2.5 coil and 35's

I've developed a higher speed vibration since installing the lift. It start at 60 mph +. You can feel it in the seats and the floor, not necessarily in the steering wheel. I am running the Tera 2.5 coil lift with 3/4 spacers in the front, a front adjustable track bar, 35 Km 2's on stock wheels with spidertrax spacers. I just had an alignment done, and they said it's pretty perfect, installed the front adjustable track bar and centered up the front axle. Not sure what else it could be besides drive line or tires. I am going to have the tire re balanced today just to rule that out.

Any other ideas? Short of pulling the shafts and seeing if that makes a difference.

a speed related vibration like what you are describing is almost always a tire balancing issue. being that you're still running factory driveline which have CV joints, they should not vibrate by design even at much steeper angles.

good luck. getting large off road tires balanced can be a pain and from experience, 2-3 trips to the shop may be necessary before they get it on right.

Has anyone tried the stuff called "equal" ? They use it in big trucks for wheel balance and tire wear. I wonder how it work for our application.

I used it in my TJ. I ran the Cragar "street lock" wheels and had a hard time getting them to balance out, so my local shop suggested it. I have to say I was a little sceptical, but it worked. absolutely no vibrations at all, at any speed. was going to use it in the JK, but it says not to use it with TPM sensors because it may screw them up. As it worked out, the sensors wouldn't fit in my wheels because the valve stem hole is in the bend too much and it won't seal. The truck shop I got the Equal from is accross town so I told them put the wheel weights on the inside and if it had any vibration I'd get the Equal bags and bring it back for them to install. Go figure, the 35 inch Goodyear MTR's that everyone seems to hate, because they "cost too much" and "ain't worth the extra money", only took one 3/4 ounce weight on the inside of three of the wheels, one 1 ounce weight on one, and one 1 1/4 ounce on the spare. I recently went on a 6 hour highway trip at 70 to 75 mph and I haven't felt one bit of vibration yet, at any speed. I guess you get what you pay for. I love my MTR's. I "own" them and you can buy all the cheaper knock offs you want, my back can't stand it. So, to get back to the subject, yes, try the Equal, you'll be happier with no weights at all.

Did you ever figure this out? I am having the exact problem with nearly the same set up! Thanks!

Im having the same issues with the 2.5 AEV kit, and 35" tire set up. However Im thinking it might be spacer related, as I had a set of the Synergy spacers on but traded them out for some poison spider ones as the red of Synergy ones where showing through the hubs of my wheels, but I dont remember feeling the vibration with them.

I saw in this thread: https://www.jk-forum.com/forums/modi...5-km2s-294361/

It said to remove the stock lug retainer clips which I didnt do, so Im going to try that out later today. If that doesnt work I'll take it in to discount tire for a rebalance.

BTW my vibration is I feel at highway speeds mostly 60 mph+ in the steering wheel and actually through the accelerator pedal, and even makes the care feel a bit bouncy. For reference Im running a AEV 2.5" kit, with geometry correction brackets, and teraflex HD adjustable front track bar. My axel has been centered, and steering wheel adjusted, only thing I haven't done yet is an alignment.
