Default JKS trackbar installed....but

When I was finnished my steering wheel was almost a 1/4 off? I only made the new trackbar 1/4 inch longer, should it have changed the wheel that much?

That's not a problem, just recenter your steering wheel and things will be back to normal.

Yup. My wheel was off by about that much too. Just spin the drag link a few times and you'll be centered right back up.

Might take a couple tries to get it just right. Mine moved about the same amount as yours and the ESP went nuts. After a few tries I got the wheel back to dead center and the light hasn't come back on since.

BaltChief - as the others said, you will have to re-center your steering wheel. Even though you have your axle centered properly with your adjustable trac bar the steering linkage also changed because of your lift, so your steering wheel has to be adjusted too.

Talking

Think of it this way:

...the axle was dragged over by the lifting of the frame...and, it was dragged towards the frame attachment point on the drag link.

...The steering was also dragged over by the lifting of the frame, towards ITS frame attachment point...THAT's what you are compensating for.

Thanks for the replies. I was just concerned on the huge difference in wheel centering. I didn't think it would move that much with such a small adjustment in the trackbar. I thought I screwed something up.

even a little bit off with the steering wheel seems to really effect the ESP. It seems mine is very touchy. but I have found the sweet spot. the steering wheel is a little of center. But the ESP never kicks in.

is there a write up on setting the steering properly after adjusting the trackbar?

the ESP is nothing to play with - the computer can kill
