Default JK X '08 3.21 to 4.10

I recently decided to go with 4.10's. Got a decent price on a rear set from an
'08 rubicon. Also picked up a set of 4.10's for the front Dana 30. Anyways when i got the carrier out of the rear I noticed that the stock ring gear,3.21, uses larger bolts 1/2"? The install kit has the 7/16" which work perfectly with the ring gear, but there is alot of slop in the carrier bolt holes. Is this normal? or can i just install bushings to take up the slop? Everyone knowledgeable I have talked about says I do not need a new carrier for the rear, but I will need one for the front. Somethin doesnt seem right. Just wanted to ask before I proceed any further. I'm assuming that the carrier bolt holes are drilled at 5/8", didnt measure before I put everything back together.
Thanks
