Default Regeared 3.21 axles???

I know a few people here have now regeared to 4.88's or 5.13's. Pretty sure all had 4.10's before though.

Lots of us here need to know what parts we need to change to regear 3.21-equipped axles!!!

I have credit card in hand, but I won't spend a dime until a vendor or manufacturer can confirm what we need. Sorry if I seem frustrated, but the JK is my only driver. I can't have it sitting on jackstands for weeks or months trying to get the right parts. I know I should be kicked for getting the 3.21's, but that's spilled milk now.

Superior, where are you? Off-Road Evolution? Northridge? Please tell me you've torn apart a 3.21-geared JK

I talked to Evolution the other day and to Superior, as of then they had not dealt with the Dana 30 and Dana 44 with 3:21's. The big question here seems to be "Do we need different carriers?". It seems that according to 6 different Jeep dealerships I have talked to, that there is only one carrier. In the last generation of Dana's the split was at 3:73's to change carriers. What I am being told is that we won't need new carriers due to the new beefy design. I am in the same boat as you guys, waiting for some absolutes (I have a deal struck for used 4:10's when he gets his changed to 4:88 or 5:13). I think one of us will have to bite the bullet and see. If it is true, we should only need new seals and crush sleeves and from what I understand they are not unique to the 07. This is all hearsay and I have no proof and it is frustrating. Hope someone chimes in here with some experience, surly someone with 3:21's have plans to have Evolution swap them out for the lower gears they offer. Superior did say they will have 4:10's out possibly in the Fall.

I have the gears and am contacting a local installer to tear into mine. I am with you guys and once I know what he says I WILL pass the word, instead of not saying a thing like some here.

I am just as frustrated as you guys, I trust my parts dept at the dealership even if I would not buy another jeep from them.

I will let you know.

That's what 3 different dealers have told me too.

You can get 4.10's now from Chrysler, seems like the prices were reasonable too. I wanna say around $200/set. Soon he market will be flooded w/ lightly used 4.10's though.

Default Here Is The Facts!!!and The Truth!!!

OKAY FOLKS HERE IS THE SCOOP , I TALKED TO NICK AT SUPERIOR GEAR AND ALL JK GEARS ARE THICK CUT, NO CARRIERS ARE NEEDED. ONLY CATCH IS ON THE EARLY RUBICON REARS WHERE THEY HAD A SMALLER BOLT PATTERN. THIS DOES NOT AFFECT THOSE OF US WITH 3.21S, THOSE WHO HAVE BEEN WAITING CAN PROCEED WITH A GREAT BIG SMILE AND BUY THOSE GEARS!!!

I am bumping this topic up, don't want to loose momentum on defining the exact needed parts and peices to make this 3:21 to 4:10 with D30 front and D44 rear happen. If anybody has completed this swap, please post here to help the rest of us. Most shops are not going to want our JK's tieing up shop space while we figure it out and wait on parts.
Thanks,
Jim

I'm with ya. MY 4.88's were just delivered a few minutes ago. I'm going to the dealer in a day or 2 and pick up what I need (or at least what I thnik I need that I got from another thread). I'll see If I can find the link.

Edit: Here's the link
