Default Cooper Discoverer S/T???

Hey guys, Im wondering who all are running this tire. I found a good deal on a set of 265/75/R16 and I am looking to see what you guys have to say. If I get them I am going to be putting them on some American Eagle 140's. Hope to get some advice. Thanks

Quality tire at a good price. I've got 10,000 miles on mine. 35x12.50x15. Quiet on the highway for such agressive tires. Great off road. I bought blems directly from Cooper and saved a bunch of money. The only blem on them was that some of the white letters weren't colored in fully. I run the black walls out anyway. Worth checking on. They are still warrantied and saved me about $30 per tire.

Mr.RonGilbert and Bone, those are the STT's, not the S/T's. Different tires entirely.

I am running 265/75R16 S/T's on my JK, and thus far I love them. Done some basic trails, and today I drove for a few hours through the snow. Granted it wasnt very much snow here in the photos. First snow of the season. But I did drive about 35 miles on paved roads that were solid ice/snow. I was very happy with there performance. And it should be noted that we do not have any flat or staight roads.

Here are a few photos:

We've run a bunch of ST's and STT's on work truck. They're both quiet, ride nice and will deliver good mileage if you rotate them religiously.

However (isn't there always a however?) the ST's don't do well in mud at all and the STT's are marginal in the sidewalls.

I ran coopers discoverer STs on my old ford 1/2 ton and had great results on and off road

I also ran cooper discoverer STTs on an old farm truck and it never got stuck w/those tires...they ran great off and on road as well but are a bit more hardcore that the regular S/Ts

Yeah, I have ran both. And I love them both. And better yet, Cooper is American owned and made Unlike another popular tire maker *cough* BFG *cough* :P

Im wondering about 275/70/17 cooper s/t tires as well my local tire store has them and another store has 255/75/17 silent armors, I want the s/t for better mud traction but I want to get some input on its on road handling and wear, Im gonnab eu sing it 70 percent on road, and I corner on mountain roads hard...so I sometimes have to countersteer and do maneuvers..

I have had mine for almost a year. Still tons of tread (10k miles on them), no real noticable wear at all.

I also live in the mountains, no flat or straight roads here. Granted most of them are paved. But I have driven on paved, gravel, dirt, and ice/snow (LOTS of snow). These tires have probably been one of the best tires I have ever run, period. They have yet to do what I wanted them too.

They WILL pick up rocks on gravel roads. But thats because of the tread layout.

Also, I think you will want the S/T-C. Its designed for use on gravel, and has a special chip resistant compound. The compound is a little harder, so it doesnt have quite as much grip, but I think it will be better for your area with lots of gravel roads.
