Default Jeep J8 scoop

Now I know a lot of you might not like the look of the scoop but this thread is not about the looks. I am trying to track down a hood scoop from the J8 OR someone who can make one for me! Any help? Thanks!

Hi! I'm sure that the designers have done way more than just cut a hole and install the scoop that we have all seen. When my JK hits a good-sized water hole, I've noticed that the area where the scoop is located gets absolutely drenched with volumes of water. I suspect that there is some kind of drainage system that goes along with this scoop as well otherwise water would just be funneled into the air filter box and hydrolock the engine. Just my 2 cents... Mike

Or the intake remains the same and it's a way to add extra air circulating around the engine compartment to help reduce underhood temps that would be higher in the more extreme service conditions that the engine compartment will face in military type applications.

It's not a simple hole in the hood. I had some pictures of the intake somewhere but will have to dig them up and post.

Was with you on this till i saw the pics, looks like it is just a scoop that goes right down into the intake I would think this would allow more water in, and easier......im not saying this is made for water or anything, but with the small amount of water that has hydrolocked other forum members jeeps i would think this just makes that easier to happen
