The avenger is a roots style that mounts on top of the motor like an old hot-rod. Whereas, the Ripp kit uses a procharger type blower. This is similar to a turbo, but it has a pulley with a belt instead of a fan for the exhaust to spin. Both build boost, but the roots style typically delives better low-end power.

A good way to think about it is the Roots type blower is often referred to as an "Increased displacement" Blower. It's designed add power throughout the over all power curve, so your V6 feels more like a V8.

The Centrifigal Blower like the RIPP supercharger typically takes longer to spool up and provides mid to top end gains but are generally capable of more boost.

In my opinion a Centrifigal supercharger is better, mainly because I hate the lack of highway power my Unlimited has, But you may want it for other reasons.

Although I hear the Avenger supercharger won't clear the stock hood and you have to cut it out.

thats ok, but do any of them have major disadvantages like heating up? breaking more often? or anything like that... i will be using it for desert driving on the dubai dunes.. which do u think im better of with... right now i think the roots is better.. but then again in the desert im always on the higher side of the rpms....

The RIPP supercharger installs in a few hours (normally 4-6 hours) and doesn't require you to cut your hood!.. (thats crazy), our supercharger is located further back in the engine bay keeping it safe from the elements.

Also other kits depend on ECU flashes like Unichip, for tuning. this flash will fight with your stock ECU, trying to compensate for larger injectors and positive pressure in the motor.

RIPP Supercharger keeps factory injectors and doesn't fight or manipulate the ECU's signals, instead we use a piggy back computer (RIPP black box) that generates its own signals keeping the stock ECU happy, This type of operation will allow the motor to run like stock if needed with out any problems. The JK will also retains the factory OBD system. This gives the motor a seamless operation when its supercharged, not to mention a 100HP gain.

note : We already have 8 JK's on the dunes of Dubai that are equipped with our RIPP Supercharger.
along with the RIPP blower the Water/Meth injection system delivers an ice cold intake charge, also preventing detonation and drastically lowering E.G.T.'s
This ensures a cool operation when flying up the sand dunes

I do like Ripp's set up, The black box and add on injectors is pretty old school and I like the quality of the manufacturing.

Maybe what I said earlier regarding Centri blowers spooling slowly wasn't too clear. Centrifigal blowers typically have a slower response in my opinion because of their flow characteristics. I'll admit I have not driven a JK with a RIPP blower. But years of boosting experience have led me to observe that. I'm not putting Centri blowers down by any means. I do plan to purchase a RIPP blower.

In my experience Centri blowers have to turn higher RPMs to make boost. I know RIPP uses a relatively oversized supercharger so it may be capable of producing boost at lower RPMs. like I said I have not driven one yet. I could be totally wrong.
