Question Thinking of selling RIP Supercharger...

... for Hemi swap dough. It is ok. Have had it in for like 200 miles... have been told it comes in better within 1000 miles due to ECu reading the bolt on yadda yadda. Called a couple of times to RIPP, havent heard back yet in reference to tuning what can be tuned.

I can say it has linear (feel weird saying the owrd power) power added, but really not anything more than what my JK had with JET Stage 2, AFE CAI, and Magnaflow catback..

So just to clear the air, its not bad, its not great. Could it be better, I dunno? I have taken it easy as in no need to mash it to the floor, its a Jeep. So do I give it 800 more miles to see whats better about it or take what I can and start getting ready for 5.7?!

Kinda torn, but not really.

Thoughts?

Thanks in advance.

I thought you weren't supposed to notice a SC until you really got on it. Maybe go dog it around for a few days and see if you notice it.

Have you had it tuned since you put it on?

I agree w/ these guys...if you're easing around you'll never feel the effects of a supercharger

I think RIPP's is a roots type which should give you power earlier in the band but I'm not sure about that

...the last couple of cars I had S/C'd I was very pleased w/ the performance

I would start with a smaller pully, spins it faster with less rpm. I have played with superchargers alot. Not real familiar with the kit, what size injectors came with the kit? Remember fuel is your friend!!! More boost needs more fuel, if not lack of power then other mechanical issues if it is really off.

You have to remember this is a centri S/C not a ROOTS!!!!!!!! The higher the RPM, the more power it makes. It's not a roots or twin screw. There is a direct relation with RPM and power. Step on the gas if you want to see what it can do. Otherwise you're not getting the full boost potential allowed by the "tune".

Not to sound like a dick, but why did you get one if you just take it easy? I'm not saying you have to go wide open all the time but it is for performance. If you arent noticing anything it must be tuned wrong or you drive too easy. This sc adds twice the horsepower, if its working properly you would definitly feel it.

That's super unsafe. Especially if this engine wasn't meant to be outfitted with a S/C to begin with. Besides, he would have to buy a stand alone engine management system and one-off do a one-off tune or pay out the a$$ to have it done.

In conclusion,
Floor it and be happy.

I just checked kenne bell's website and it seems they are no longer making the kits for the TJ. And actually, it looks like they cut down big time on engine configs. Oh well, they are working on a twin screw for the 5.7L
