The FT ultimate kit is a great kit, but if you want something THIS YEAR you should go with something else. Many people have been waiting a long time for them to come in. Good luck

What is the story with replacing the control arms on the Teraflex?

The control arms aren't that much of an issue. At least no more than on the Full Traction economy lift. I think both are fine products and if I had it to do over, I would probably do a custom kit by mixing and matching parts from various manufacurers. Ideally I would like 4" front springs, 3" rear springs, Full Traction M-Force Shocks, Teraflex rear track bar bracket, adjustable front and rear track bars (probably Teraflex as well), and adjustable arms.

UH I know they had some shipping issues in the past but they are catching up.

Do you have one on order?

Yes, for just over a month. I just need to be more patient with it all.

Hey byucoug, I thought your FT lift was in and ready to get installed over at Off Road Evolution?

I too am looking to run 35's on an unlimited rubi as soon as I wear the stock M/T's down some. There have been a few posts about issues including rear track bar bracket failure and 35's rubbing hard on 3" lifts and I would like to avoid these problems.

The following are a few things I would like to accomplish with the lift and hopefully this thread will provide insight on how to run 35's with no problems.

Clear 35x12.5's on stock rims with no rubbing under max articulation (open to minor mods and trimming)

Maintain or improve stock handling both on and off-road

Keep center of gravity as low as possible

Increase articulation

Level stance with after-market bumper and winch

Avoid drive train and suspension geometry issues that may cause early parts failure

Avoid voiding warranty

Keep cost as low as possible without sacrificing quality

Are there kits that fill the bill or would you need to mix and match to achieve this? What would your perfect lift be to run 35's?

The only kit that I know that has had multiple rear track bar axle mount breaks is Skyjacker. As far as "rubbing hard" goes, I don't know of any 3" kit with this problem. Now, minor rubbing is an issue that any kit might experience if it's flexible enough or depending on what the make of the tires are (every 35" tire measures a bit differently depending on make), how much back spacing you have and how much weight you're carrying in your Jeep.

You can only run 35x12.50's on stock rims if you install 1.5" wheel spacers. And, depending on the make of the tire, you may or may not get some rubbing. But, minor rubbing can always be addressed by extending your bump stop extensions or by doing minor trimming.

Maintain or improve stock handling both on and off-road
Well, the only experience I have with a 3" lift to date is the Full Traction Ultimate lift and I can tell you that the ride I have now is BETTER than stock both on and off-road. Now, this is not to say there aren't other kits out there that perform as well, just that this is the experience that I have now.

Keep center of gravity as low as possible
A 3" lift, 35" tires and wheels with the proper back spacing to fit them will give you a great setup with a low COG.

Increase articulation
My experience with the Full Traction lift is that it has outstanding articulation.

Level stance with after-market bumper and winch
If you get a Full Traction kit, make sure to ask for it to come with the HD front coils. I have them on my JK with a heavy PUREJEEP front bumper and WARN Power Plant on right now and it sits perfectly level.

Avoid drive train and suspension geometry issues that may cause early parts failure
The Full Traction Ultimate lift will give you all the adjustable components you need to dial in your suspension perfectly.

Avoid voiding warranty
This really is a non-issue as your dealer would have to be able to proove whatever damage you have was directly caused by your lift.

Keep cost as low as possible without sacrificing quality
Well, all I can say here is that more times than not, you get what you pay for when it comes to suspension lifts. If you're on a budget, I would recommend getting a kit that is less complete and then add the components you need as your budget allows.
