I have read so many threads analyzing and testing the following lifts:
Rough Country 2.5" Suspension
TeraFlex 2.5" Coil Lift Kits and Coils
Skyjacker 2.5" Standard Lift Kits
(the 3 of them with coils and shocks)

After reading probably for 5 o 6 days jk-forum threads about these lifts, I have a simple question... does it exists a jk lift kit hassle free? I've read all kind of troubles in the installation and testing of the 3 lifts:

- brake lines are tight, skyjacker sells relocation brackets. I also had issues with my front track bar. I bought their relocation braket as a temporary fix.

- The problem is the rear axle is off, the driver's side tire is in more than the passanger side tire about 3/4 of inch.

- I just installed the TeraFlex BB on my jeep this week. My front axle is not centered anymore and I have a badd wobble at high speeds. Many people have told me it may be because of the uncenterd axle. Also, from what I've read on here is NOT to use a relocation or extension bracket on the trackbar because they break very easily, but to go with an adjustable trackbar to recenter the axle.

Which one is the best option? I'll be using 35x12.50 R17 BF KM2 tires.

I used to have a TJ Rubicon... I didn't had to read hundreds of posts to find out which was the best suspension. I purchased then the RE 4.5 long arm and that was all! No troubles in the installation, nor riding on/off-road. I miss my old jeep!!!

I have used OME 2" lift kit with heavy duty spring kit on my 2007 JK diesel on last year. When I installed kit, 2.5" front and 3.3" rear so nice to trail esp., climb hills.

Once I used Warn front and rear bumpers, I couldn't used OME anymore as I have
35/12.5R15 tires so not enough room under fender.

If you willing to enjoy hardcore, min. lift up should be 3" with brake line relocation brackets, track bar relocation brackets (to reduce angle) and adj. track bars (for axle centering).

You need to consider whether you will install steel bumpers. If you will use them, you need more lift up as considering increased weight of overall body.

If you mount higher than 3", you need also adj. arm kits (upper/lower arms), fr/rr drive shafts, etc...
More complicated so negotiation will be 3" in my opinion. 2.5" is proper for 33" tire.

Bigger tire.... Bigger stress... Less riding quality on highway....but Jeepers can't stop..

Get the Rough Country for $329 and JKS track bars front/rear for about $280.....that puts you at around the price of just the Teraflex kit. That's my $.02

I just thought about it though, there's no way you're gonna be able to run 35's on the Rough Country without some rubbing at full flex....you'd probably have to add spacers with it. My RC 2.5" Coils have 3/4" spacers also, and my little 33's almost rub in the rear.

Thanks everyone for your comments. I have the Rugged Ridge XHD bumper (w/ warn 9.5 TI winch) on the front, and planing to purchase later the LoD signature rear bumper.

For me this is a medium step, since in the future I will go for the Full Traction 4 long arm suspension (not have the money now!).

Any other comment or suggestion will be greatly appreciated.

You can easily run 35's with a 2.5" lift if you use xenon flairs. You will have a ton of room for your tires to move. With stock flairs though, the tires will fit, but they will rub offroad.

TeraFlex now has a HD Forged Trackbar that will work with 2.5" BB kits and higher. The part #1753418 is the one you want. Take a look at the 2009 catalog in my sig line.

Default Your reading too much!

Part of the problem that you are having is that you are reading too many posts. Everyone has their own opinion, experience (good or bad). "This kit is great, this kit sucks, this one broke, this one caused me these problems, etc...". Go with your gut. I think most of the reputable kits will be comprable and you will probably be happy. How do I know this? I tortured myself the same way you are. As soon as I thought I knew what I was going to get, I would read a post about how it caused problems, or a post about how great another kit was. Sometimes too much information is bad. Especially when most of them are opinions. Having said that, that is my opinion. Good luck.

X2 on what he said!

Now. I did the TF 2.5 coil lift kit. No problems on install, no problems on or off road. Very happy with it....
