Question Hardware for Bikini

I will have the Freedom Top and am looking at also running with a bikini. I have a handful of questions:

1) If you put the winshield rail in for the bikini, do you have to take it off in order to put your Freedom Top back on?
2) Is there a specific bikini top you have to order if you go with the soft top door rails (to give a better seal)?
3) What is the cost of the door rails?
4) I assume the door rails would need to come back off when reinstalling the Freedom Top, is that correct?
5) How difficult is it to install/remove the door rails?

Thanks for your input.

That's a misleading title for the thread.

Why bother with the bikini top? Just use the front panels of the Freedom Top.

the windshield rail stays on the bikini,, its nothing like the TJ designs. You do not need the soft top door rails, but you are right it definetly will seal the doors. If your dont have the door rails (surrounds) they wont seal.

Door surrounds come on and off in about 5 secounds. theres two big screws the go through the roll bar. its very easy.

hope this helps

And yes the bikini comes off before you can put the hardtop back on, door rails too.

And I think the bikini looks better than running the hard top panel, but they do the same thing, keep the blairing sun off your head.

We will have occasional monsonnal rain storms around here and as long as I'm driving w/a bikini, not a lot of water on me or my seats or my passengers. Where as w/the front panels, my back seats would still get wet as any passengers back there.

Thanks for the suggestion though, I may experiment w/that to some degree.

That helps a lot... I appreciate the insight. Rubimon, thanks for your insight as well!

I think I will probably go with just the bikini, no door surrounds... I tend to run w/out the doors anyway. Plus I'll throw a trail cover in the back just in case I'm somewhere that doesn't have covered parking
