Default Anyone running Jet Stage 2 with stock JK?

4wd Store in town recommended the Jet Stage 2 over the Hypertech. I have a pretty much stock Rubicon JK. I bought one from someone on this forum but after reading about the Stage 2, it says you need 180 thermostat and a modified exhaust. The premium fuel doesn't bother me.

Is anyone using the Jet Stage 2 without the 180 and exhaust mods? Is this just a recommended for best performance type thing or do I really have to have those to run this? Will it cause any damage or decrease performance of stock?

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

From my knowledge of Jet Stage II in the Grand Cherokee, the 180 t-stat and the exhaust were recommended upgrades, but certainly not necessary.

I don't have a Hypertech, but I had a JET PCM and it worked for a little while but then the computer gets smart and overrides the JET. I got mine for free and sold it, so I wasn't too bummed.

At least you can buy both and return one. No shipping hassles with a local store.

I tried installing a 180 thermostat and the only thing I noticed was a big drop in mpg. I put the stock thermostat back in and the mpg went back up.
