Default Time to check your Axle tubes Boys and Girls

I posted this in Central Canada but this should be for all FYI

I really do think that it is time for those with the Rubi's and even those who don't .....to check your axle tubes in that specific location... clean it off and then run your finger nails around the circumference to feel any splits coming from the weld points from the upper and lower control arm mounts.. see if there are any hair line fractures.... before this happens to you...

Also check along the top of the tube from the pumpkin to the upper control arm mount as well as mine is split along there as well pic here...

pic #133

make sure to click the shot three times to put it Full screen you will see the split... right to the pumpkin..

...wow, these axles almost seem like they're made of clay the way they're falling apart...I've seen a few posts and pics of our axle tubes fracturing and busting...not very comforting
the aftermarket gussets and tube reinforcements are starting to look like a worthy investment more and more...hmmm

There was talk of a tube reinforcement kit,, basically sleaving the axle tube with a tube slid inside the axle.. I got too many hits on the search to find it.. But if this is done along with a "c" bracket gusset kit it could make the 44 or even the 30 a very stout axle.. I would love to go to a 60 to avoid all this,, but I never plan on going bigger than 35's and commute 120 miles a day in my JK so a 44 is about the best axle right now for me.. But I'm thinking about going with a sleeve kit for now..
Dude sorry to see your axle split.. hope you get patched up quick!

I got my D30 sleeved and gusseted in January. Now I am really glad I did. You can see picks on my gallery page if interested. MT Logan Off-road did a great job.

OUCH, Bro thats wicked horrible! I hope you get that fixed soon, I would hate for that to happen to me, but if it did, all the more reason to go up to the D60. and might as well throw a hemi in too. Good luck. JOE>
