Default Rough Country 2.5 Lift

New to the jeep world, thinking about a lift.

I am thinking about going with a RC 2.5 lift, it is going on an 09 Wrangler X Unlimited. I noticed that it does not come with extended sway bar links, do most of the other kits come with these and are they really needed? What effect would it have on the lift if coils and shocks were replaced but the factory sway bar links re-installed, I know RC and JKS have sway bar disconnects but are they really needed. Thanks in advance for your help.

I have it and I love it. Just the springs and the 2.2 shocks. Nothing else was needed and I love the ride. Piece of cake to install too. Plenty of room for 35's.

I am also going to be running the stock wheels and tires for a little bit, do I need wheel spacers of any kind?

You will not need spacers with factory wheels and tires. When you add bigger tires to the factory wheels is when you need the spacers.

This has been covered many times before, a quick search should get you tons of info.

The BB's are all about the same, Teraflex does add a few more things then some of the others and I would consider it a more "complete" BB, that's why I have it, but it does add to the cost.

No you don't really need the longer links you should be fine with the stock ones, but I felt it was placing to much stress on the rear swaybar without them on our Jeep. The longer TF links do cause some extra problems of thier own though with the stock rims so if you still have the stockers you may not want to put them on anyway.

The brake line brackets also really need to be lowered but you can easily make your own drop brackets for just a few dollars or have RC or another vendor add them to your kit for a couple more $$.

The trackbars are ok with a 2.5" lift or less, on ours I got about a 1/8" off to the drivers side on the front and about 1/2" to the pass side on the rear. The rear was enough off to irritate me so I got a bracket to recenter the axle (which the TF kit now includes). Others don't care about the axle being off center so it's mostly a personal preferance.

If going with a 2.5" or greater spring lift I would say that the links, brake line brackets and rear TB bracket are all required, but that's just my opinion.
