Default Best Intake for Non-Fording JK?

I'm looking to add a CAI on my JK. Now, I don't plan on doing any mudding or river fording with my JK, just some rock crawling. I know many people on the forum here are concerned about vapor lock and thus aren't partial to the CAI's at all. So I'm wondering, if I don't plan to get my Jeep in water that deep do I still really need to worry about that. And which intake do ya'll recommend?

K&N drop in. unless you pair a CAI with exhaust/headers/etc it does nothing but make annoying noises

The one sold at Northridge4x4 sounds really good when you step on it.

I would stay away from filters that are oiled. they tend to gum up the throttle body and air intake sensor. They also give the dealer another excuse to try and void a part of your warranty.

That leaves stock or AEM cai.

I have the AEM. It is louder but unfortunately I cannot notice a difference with mileage or power.

I think that the comments from Jeep engineers, as well as overall experience from folks on this forum, is that adding an aftermarket filter of any type without doing more work to free up overall airflow doesn't add any value other than making it louder.

I have the Airaid and the improvement is minor, but there is some. If this is the only mod you intend I would seriously look at the new AEM drop in, looks pretty interesting to me. I voted "other", for AEM drop in.

I bought the AFE intake, although i wish that i bough the AEM one. i have it paired with the Banks exhaust, and it sounds really good. And I can do notice a performance upgrade.

but i have to say the best part is.... my jeep now sounds like it has some balls... even though in know that it doesn't.

I think that mileage would be better if i kept my foot off of it.

AEM dry flow is what we run.
