Default ESP and BAS idiot lights

While re-centering my steering wheel my ESP and BAS lights came on. I now have my steering wheel centered but the lights will not go off. What can I do to reset/turn them off?

I had the same issues after installing a body lift. I found I had to recenter a few times till it was really corrected. After you drive it for a short distance the lights should go out. If they dont, if might be indicative of a bad abs sensor from what I understand.

Thanks pagoda I haven't try driving it. I was afraid that it would screw something up. I'll give that a shot.

you won't screw anything up. if your steering wheel is centered, the lights should go off after driving your jeep a bit. or, you can pull the neg lead on your battery for about 10 mins and that'll do the trick too.

I believe I know the answer, however, I'll ask anyway...does adjusting gear ratio also adjust shift points, to eliminate the confused transmission wandering. This question is in reference to being lifted and having bigger tires.

it will to a degree but what you really need to do is recalibrate your speedometer. this will get your shift points back to where they need to be even without regearing.

I must be doing something wrong. I have driven it around waiting for the lights to go out. I also disconnected the Negative lead from the battery for about a half hour. I have recentered the steering. I have tried checking fault codes (none only ------). I'm just not sure what to do next.

Are you recentering by eye?
There is a small tolerance for the steering wheel sensor. I can barely move the steering wheel either way, and my "aeroforce interceptor" gauge shows quite a bit of movement. If adjusting by eye, it may take many attempts.

I am using an AEV Procal to center, maybe that's the problem. The instructions are not excatly step by step, so perhaps I have my head up my ass. Thanks for the advice.
