Default No control arms for new driveshaft???

Talking to one of the tech's at my local Jeep shop and he seems to think I can run a double-cardann (ie tom woods) rear driveshaft without needing upper control arms in the rear.....any input on this?

What he said... if the pinion angle is not correct then the drive shaft will just be a cover.

your local jeep tech is an idiot. with a double cardin drive shaft, you NEED to have your rear pinion to be in line with the drive shaft. the only way you can do this is with a set of adjustable upper control arms. if you do not set your pinion angle, you will have vibrations and enough so to screw up all kinds of things like your output shaft and pinion seals or your u-joints.

Thats what I thought I knew in the first place but figured if he was telling me the opposite then I may as well check it out.
Bad advice no doubt.

I think I would find someone else to work on my Jeep.

I agree! but it is hard to call him a jeep "tech" after that advice!
