Default turbo or supercharger

Is anyone here running either of those or is it even possible. I see some you tube videos on the grand cherokees using these but i didnt know if it was a negative because i don;t see anyone running. I;m not looking for racing just going a little better than a crawl without going hemi?

Ripp superchargers makes a nice kit. Some guys on here have them. They work really well from what I've heard. I think they add around 100 hp. Check out their website.

For a jeep I would definatly on use a SC a Turbo would add to the already horrible off line performance and poor low end.. but top end performance would be better with a turbo. SC would add off line boost and no lag just parasitic loss overall

With a 9.6:1 compression ratio turbo lag would not exist unless you went with a hugely over sized turbo. I've got a car with 10:1 compression and twin turbos, boost comes fasttttt.

Technically, a turbo IS a supercharger, but I know what you're asking. Go with a blower. As stated above, RIPP makes a nice one. If I had the money, I'd have one inder the hood.

Anytime you have a positive pressure in the induction system, you have a supercharged condition. It doesn't matter what's causin it on the outside. The correct name for turbos is turbo-supercharger, but somewhere in time, it was changed to turbocharger. They just do the same job in different ways is all.

ROTFL!!! Have you ever hooked up an exhaust drive to a supercharger or seen one done by someone else? The only thing similar is that the output of both go to an intake of an engine when used in the automotive field.

Might as well say that a two-stroke and a four-stroke engine are the same thing too.

So my windshield intake feeding the engine directly is a supercharger too?

Nah, it acts more like a turbo, low pressure below 20MPH, up to 7" positive pressure at 70MPH and the engine will never accept more air this way than it can use, unlike a supercharger that can blow out the top and bottom end of an engine.

BTW, you can put an electric motor on the end of a supercharge as use it for a high volume air compressor, with the right base.

To the OP, get a supercharger if you're looking at either.Currently it appears that the V6 does better on a stick than an auto with a supercharger. Yes, bro, those knarly V60's can crank out the horese's.
