factory 2 inch lift
Hello everyone,
I was recently at my local dealer to get a price quote for a factory installed 2 inch lift kit and was quoted $2310 plus tax for the kit and installation. It retains the factory warranty. Is that a reasonable price for a 2 inch lift or are there aftermarket kits that can be installed for less? They will not install aftermarket parts that are not oem so I'd loose out on the warranty...

A good 2.5" coil lift with new shocks is gonna run you about $400 and you can put it on yourself. That dealer is trying to rape you, call the cops and blow your whistle!!!!!!!!Seriously the "Factory" lift is just a rebadged aftermarket company, rubicon express i believe. Go with TeraFlex, Old Man Emu, Rusty's, or another company and you can get the same if not better quality for about an 8th of the price.
Oh yeah, a lift, reguardless of where you got it does not void the warranty. The only thing not covered would be something failing directly related to the instilation of the aftermarket part. The dealership bears the responsibility to prove that the failure was caused by the aftermarket part as well, its not the other way around. If they try to feed you bull go to another dealer or tell them you are getting a lawyer, they will change their attitude real fast.
Now once you lift and put on those 35s and go playing and break an axle shaft, dont expect the dealer to cover that!!!!
x2 on everything 09rubicon said... that is way too much for a lift of that size! Do yourself a favor and grab yourself a Teraflex 2.5" kit, hook up with some buddies in your staging area, have a little install party and buy everyone beer and dinner with the tons of cash you saved!
As stated, regardless of the lift, it will not void the warranty. Also as a side note, if you get the Mopar lift, and something causes a problem that can be traced back to the lift causing it, it will NOT be warranteed. Whether it was a dealer installed Mopar lift or not. In reality, thaer is no such thing as a Mopar lift kit. They are all rebranded Rubicon Express lift kits. Save your money and go with the Teraflex 2.5" coil kit.

Just for example: Bieng a lazy bastard by nature I paid a shop to get the front coil spacers installed....a total of $60 Canadian!!! It would be the same price to install a spring!!! Yea, I'd say they were raping you without using lubrication!!!! *OUCH*

The dealership where I live is "middle of the road" concerning knowledge, ethics, etc. (ie there are both better/worse dealers around) Anyhow, they will install an aftermarket lift without issues. They will even warranty Tereflex lifts they install on new Jeeps.
