Default Rear Axle Housing

I installed a simple 2.5 coil and spring lift last week, and everything went as it was supposed to. Took the JK for a long ride and everything seemed good. I went down and had an alignment shop check the front end and center the steering wheel, and they got it on the rack and called me over. They showed me that the rear housing was 33 degrees out, which equates to about 1/2". The passenger side is forward of the drivers side. They said there was no way to correct it as it comes from the factory.
I have taken it to the dealer and asked to have it fixed under warranty, and I was told to leave it and they would have the factory rep take a look at it and take some pictures and tell me what they can do.
Any suggestions as to what can be done to fix this issue? I stopped at the local Teraflex shop and they said the 33 degrees was not that bad, and other than some wear on the rear tires, I would not even notice it. That does not make me feel all warm and fuzzy. I am awaiting word from the dealer, but would like to be able to at least suggest what I want done should the option arise. Any suggestions?

Worst case senario will be that the stealership will BS about your lift, so if you still have your stock parts put everything back to stock and have them check the alignment. Then they will have no choice but to fix the problem.

they can't blame a lift for that. Have them fix it or get some adjustable CAs

Sheeeesh

Shame on you first two posters

This is a very common issue when installing a lift without adjustable trackbars or at least trackbar mounts. Don't worry! Most BB lifts don't come with them because they aren't really all that necessary. The amount that your axles have shifted is perfectly normal but if you are super anal about it then go ahead and buy yourself some adj trackbars or the mounts and then you can perfectly center your axle as desired.

Did you loosen your upper control arms when you installed the lift?? If you didnt you might be getting some bind preventing it from sitting/settling properly. I know it sounds stupid, but when you change the angles of the arms like that (yes I know its not much) you need to loosen the bolts, put all the weight on them (vehicle on the ground) and then retourque them. It sounds stupid, but it may be an easy fix.

I did not loosen the control arms when I installed the lift. Everything went so well that I did not think that was necessary. I am still awaiting the dealer response, but will try everything I can to get solve this.

Loosen ALL control arm bolts on one side. I would do the side that is too far forward. Then get a ratchet strap and put it around the rear axle and around a frame point behind the axle and jack that sumbitch backwards, then tighten up the bolts. You might need to end up going forward with the other side, but that should do it.

Agreed, loosening ALL control arms is better. Good call redneck!
