Default Atlas winch

I went today to look at a winch someone had on craigs list. It turned out to be a 8000 Lbs capaity "Atlas" winch. It was already mounted to a plate for a TJ and he was only selling it together for $300.00. Brand new never used, with all accessories. Worth it?

I have no experience with Atlas Winch but if you google "atlas winch" you will find some other forums with a very vocal unhappy customer. Others say they work fine and are low cost.
