Default Questions about ordering 2010's

So I owned a 2008 Rubicon Unlimited:

I'm missing it quite a bit. I want to buy another and I did a dealer search with 250 miles of me with no dealers having what I'm looking for in 2009's. Before the weekend there was one left... but I called today and that dealer sold it already. I noticed that the 2010's have the option of the Dark Charcoal Pearl. Which sound interesting to me.

So my questions are, 1. Can I special order from my dealer? 2. If I did, when do the 2010's start showing up at dealers? I haven't visited this forum in a while and I did a basic search and didn't find out much. Any help would greatly be appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
D.

yes you can custom order from your dealer. (you even get your name on the sticker.... This Jeep custom ordered for xxxx) you will have little to no negotiating room doing so. (depends on your relationship of course.)

production starts at the end of July (I think) They start showing up at dealers at the end of Aug first part of September. Typically September.

I don't think they are placing orders for 2010s yet though. If you ordered one the first day you could, I wouldn't expect it to show up until the end of September at the earliest. Probably first part of October.

I ordered my 09 on Aug 1 2008 ( the first day my dealer was taking orders ). I took delivery on Nov 17th 2008, keep in mind that included a 3 week boat ride to get to me.

So I dropped by the dealer today. They said they are still waiting for more info on the 2010's... He said it should be next week. They do have a 2009 Rubicon without the tow package or the MyGig. They told me that they might be able to install those... Using all OEM parts of course. They are going to call me later to let me know. It's White with the Gray interior. Looks nice!
Not sure which route I should go.

Not to hijack, but did you get any sort of deal on it even though you ordered, or did you pay MSRP?

Mak Haik in Georgetown TX has a nice Blue Rubicon Unlimited with Nav, automatic, and tow package on their lot for close to 6 weeks now.

I ordered mine in late Jan 07 when the JKs were selling like hotcakes. And I got a pretty good deal--nearly two grand off MSRP. They had it to me before the end of Feb, turning it overnight from train delivery to beat the monthly dealer bonus cut-off. I made clear with the salesman that I was in no hurry to buy a new vehicle, and even waited a month after my first visit for him to call me and ask if I was still searching. I told him I was--but only if the price was right. Patience and timing paid off. And remember: Back then you could hardly find JKs on the dealer lots because they were so popular.

I'm looking for:
-Manual
-Uconnect
-Tow pkg
-Dual Top
-White

My dealer has rubicons in:
-Auto/uconnect/white
-Manual/white

I still haven't heard from them.... must be a bad indication.

Default Mac Haik Rubicon

Watch out for the blue Rubicon @ Mac Haik. I tried to buy it just over a month ago but it had broken down on a test drive and was sitting in a service bay. The service department & sales manager said it had 'major' problems and would not sell it at the time. It might have been completely cleared up by now.......this is just a FYI.

(I ended up buying a 4 door X from them)
