Default Drilling holes for bump stop mounting

HI All,

On WOL's suspension install instruction, for the front bump stop, he drilled a 11/32-diameter hole before putting through the 3/8 self tapping screw (this is an instruction for FT kit).

I've just ordered RE 2" BB kit, and for the bump stop, it also comes with 3/8" self tapping screw. HOWEVER, the instruction said to drill 5/16-diameter hole instead.

Am i missing something here? Any help would be appreciated. I don't want to drill a wrong hole

My RE 3.5" Super-Flex instructions said the same thing, to drill a 5/16" hole.
I did and it wasnt big enough, I couldnt get the self tapping bolt started, so I drilled it one size bigger and it worked fine

The difference is 1/32???? It won't make a difference. RE is just using a more common drill bit.

The 11/32" hole will just make it easier to tap it with the self-tapping bolts. You can still do it with a 5/16" hole, it just will take a lot more effort especially if all you've got are the self-tapping bolts to work with.
