Lift Kit Facts
Let me start off by saying that the purpose of this thread is for helping everyone on this great forum! Time and time again I see post after post with a title along the lines of "This lift vs. that lift" or "I've narrowed it down. Help me choose a lift", or something similar. This is followed by post after post of user after user telling the OP to use the search function, talking about lifts they didn't ask about or trash talking the intended lift, or lots of editorial and opinions of what parts EVERY lift MUST have, etc. It can get tedious for any newb, or experienced person to sift through what is real, and what is perception.
Let's face it, the search function can be frustrating at times, as well. I would like this thread to contain posts from real users, with just the facts. No opinions, no fluff, no trash talk, just pure data and pics to help everyone on here find the lift that best suits THEIR needs, budget, and intended use!
So, let's get to the info! If I miss something, someone please let me know! Pics are always welcome. 1 before and 1 after should be enough for most people to get the idea.
Info to post:
1)Year and model of your JK(including if it's an SWB or Unlimited.)
2)Lift kit used
3)Any additional parts that you purchased that weren't included.(This includes driveshafts, axles, etc.) Were they bought with the lift, or after, and why you added the parts.
4)Any initial problems you had with the lift and how you remedied it.(this includes additional parts purchased or even great customer service
)
5)Total lift investment.
6)Before and after pics
7)Actual measured lift vs. advertised.
Again, just the facts, not looking for any opinions or editorials, or why's, etc. Just trying to cut through all of the B.S. and get to just the basic facts, for EVERYONE'S benefit.
I would start, but I'm installing my lift next week! haha
Thanks for everyone's participation and help in making the forums a great place to come!

1. 2008 Rubicon Unlimited
2.Teraflex 2.5" Spring lift with shock spacers
3. Added 1" front spacer to compensate for bumper
4. Bolts on rear sway bar end links are rubbing frame rails on both driver and passenger sides. Corrected by adding another washer to outside of link.
5. $510 with front spacer.
6. Didn't take any yet.
7. I was running a 2.5" front spacer prior to liftand 210 lbs of bumper and winch, so my measurements would be less than accurate compared to a stock JK.

Sure, I'll play.
1)2008 Rubicon Unlimited
2)Black Diamond 3"
3)Adjustable front and rear adjustable control arms, rear adjustable track bar, new front drive shaft (after ripping apart the stock boot on the transmission), )
4)new Superlift 4" rear springs (Black Diamond spring sagged - warranty). No hassle from Supperlift, they just sent new springs!
5)Lost track along the way
6)Lots of pics, but none that really show before and after results. The one below is current.
7)The actual lift depends on where the measurements are taken. I take measurements at 5 places along the frame (in case I mess one up) and track with various mods. The front went up 4 5/8", but back 2" on the initial install.
Below is the lift data. The first is measured at the door (each side), and the second is the side-to-side lean. Note the lean was there since day one. Wasn't until last week I figured out how to fix it.
