Default $$ Oh No

SO i have had the death wobble 5 times in 2 days

i had the wheels balanced
i had an alignment
have tightened all track bar bolts
the axle is centered

the steering stabilizer is dented but this should not give me the DW.

then i found the lower control arm bracket (passenger side) that is connected to the axle bent and where the bolt goes through is split. this must be the problem so what is the fix and a price Lucky to still be here

I don't think a bent lower control arm bracket is enough to cause DW. What speeds were you traveling at when you had the DW? (yes, it matters) If you were a little closer I might have been able to come up and help you out.

Call Dave at Northridge, he gave me a deal for control arms, I paid around $270 or something for front lower. Of course check everything else as well.

I'm glad your ok, totally sucks having the DW!!!!!

if the bracket is split, your looking at having a plate fabbed up that can be welded over or a new bracket put on. that sucks

3.9 i am in Laguna on a Tuesday and Thursday if you are free, originally WOL installed the lift so it was done right (4months ago).

The death Wobble happens at about 35mph to 45mph i have noticed i am going up hilll or downhill when it happens on the freeway 65-70mph all i get is a slight shimmy on the wheel, since the alingment it does drive better

somewhereinla the jeep has a teraflex 2.5 coil lift everything else is stock

yes the bracket is split about a 6mm crack where the bolt goes in.

What time will you be in Laguna? Also, if you do actually have a crack then you deffinatly need to get that fixed. I is more than likely allowing the bolt to move around and wallow out the bolt hole. This can cause DW and/or give you a semi to severe shimmy at 60-70mph.

And what bracket is split???
