Default 09' wrangler alternator problem!?

Ok jeepers..my friends been having a ton of issues with her 09 wrangler unlimited. When we turn the jeep off it continues to die. Its been looked at (dude might not have been that bright) bc he said the battery terminals were loose..so he "tightened" them and said its good..we keep having to jump it everytime we try to turn it back on..it just makes a clicking noise everytime like it wants to turn over..but wont. The battery is roughly 3 yrs old. Do you all think its the alternator??? Or just the battery flat out? The battery is obviously an easy fix but the last time it was looked at (about a month ago) the terminals were changed and we were told it was good. Which is why im leaning towards the alternator..help please guys

hou need to have the battery checked and load tested , more than likely a bad battery . any competent repair shop has the equipment to test the battery and charging system. 3 years for a battery is about right if its the stock battery especially if you drive in climate extremes or offroad and it gets bounced around hope this helps and good luck

Yeah thats what ive been telling her but when shes taken it shes been told...well lets just say non helpful info...which is frustrating me bc this is SUCH an easy fix. Im just going to replace her battery and go from there im just worried about why it wont hold a charge..she doesn't take it offroad or anything whereas I take mine and abuse it haha. Anyway thanks for the reply! On to troubleshooting

could be a dead cell ,anyways any electrical issue first thing is to start with the battery . if you jump it and it stays running most likely the alternator is ok ,although it could possibly be undercharging . if driving at night with lights etc it may be keeping up with demand but not keeping batt charged enough for starting .
