Default 3.6L garbage?

Just hit 26.000 miles and today I took the jeep to the dealer for a head replacement. It looks to me like there is a serious problem with the 3.6 that needs to be noticed by the manufacturer. Luckily I am still covered by the warranty, but what if it would have happened to me well past it? Probably would have to spend serious $$$.

The manufacturer has noticed it. They have replaced lots of 3.6L heads, and the new ones have supposedly been redesigned.

That is a good deal, but that doesn't mean they will replace all of mine.

I have the same problem. I've taken my Jeep in twice and have had the driver side now waiting on my passenger head to be replaced.

My good 'ol 3.8 just had some work done at 44,000. All covered under powertrain warranty (I'm out of bumper to bumper). I assume you guy have the 100,000 powertrain, so you should be OK.

Yes this motor has a serious problem with the heads. I had my left driver side head replaced at 8000 miles and waited almost 3 weeks for them to get the NEW heads. Now at 22000 miles the left head went out again and this head was one of the new heads. They also had to replace the computer on the jeep. Should of kept my under powered 07 at least I had no problems with it. I'm now thinking of trading in the rubicon and getting the grand Cherokee Trailhawk with the 5.7 hemi. Has anyone heard anything about the trailhawk ?
