3.6L garbage?
Hah thanks. My partners and I were all suited up during the Christopher Dorner thing and we were passing this around as a joke. Some of these signals may have been used since then.

I don't think its been fixed. Imo U can't just fix the overall bad judgment used in the design of the engine. Here is my take on what I've read recently on the pentastar. Take it for what its worth, I'm not here to argue thermal dynamics. I'm just pointing out the obvious cost cutting that has a direct impact on this problem: Sure it makes great power, but what I see posted in the other thread shows several weaknesses directly effecting the cylinder heads. Shame on Chrysler for opting to take the cheap route on a flagship vehicle. They could start trying to fix the issue by increasing oil cooling and capacity, as well as addressing the valve guides. A closed deck block should have been used, especially since they went with inter grated exhaust manifolds. the heads are gonna retain a lot more heat, especially in low speed, high load scenarios. When ever someone has a issue that results in head replacement I see the same symptoms involved. Powerloss, ticking sounds, stalling, and even overheating. So when u think about it, what could have gone "bad" in the cylinder head to need a replacement? Well power lose and ticking would assume valve train issues. Either the valves are warping or the guides are failing. Chrysler can claim its not a heat problem and sure, it is not entirely a heat problem, but its a factor. The valve guides are a obvious huge issue. Won't be too much longer before we see if this new head really fixes the issue, maybe another year or so. The claimed 1% of all produced engines being affected though... Bs
I just don't understand why everyone is so surprised. Every major design change has some issues initially. When I got my JK in '07, there were tons of recalls because it was a new model that didn't have extensive testing. They are obligated to fix major issues if you have a warranty or not through recalls. Most of those issues have been resolved and implemented in the manufacturing process now. If you think there's problems now, wait until they release a Hemi or US diesel option. Those things will have some bugs at first too. Chrysler needs to spend more time in the R&D instead of pushing out new designs just because everyone is hyped over the change.
