Default 71.2 Mpg

I tried something the other night when i left the group from cleghorn. I went to arrowhead and when i turned on the 18 from blue jay. I put the transmishon in nutral and costed down the hill all the way down the mpg kept incresing. I gave it no gas and had to hit the bracks alot. I passed a few cars going down the hill so it wasent like i was holding up traffic or anything. To make a long story short by the time i got to the light before the 215 the mpg was showing 71.2 is this correct.

hahaha yea thats right.... the rate you were going your only burning enough gas to keep the engine running and not using any gas to actually propel the vehicle. The computer looks at how many miles you travel and how much gas you use to get you there. So your theoretically going 71mpg but once you hit level ground and start propelling the vehicle with gas it'll drop down to 20's

Coasting downhill with no engine breaking, you're wearing out your brakes. not much savings there......
