Default To beadlock, or not to beadlock??

So, as I start pricing out lift/wheels/tires (along with an endless assortment of other things), I am left wondering if I really need beadlock wheels or not. I don't do a lot of extreme crawling, seeing as it's also my daily driver, not to mention I tend to avoid everything that would result in body damage.

With that being said, I'm looking for your opinions. What do you think? Is it worth dropping the extra bucks on a set, or should I not bother? It would be nice to know that I'm not going to blow a bead when airing down, but that's the only benefit that comes to mind.

Thoughts?

Save your cash. Do some off roading and rock crawling then ask yourself the question. :P
My advice is no not yet.

It took me about 4 years to decide to buy a set. I lost 4 beads on John Bull in one trip. Before that i ran the stock wheels .

I run my 35" MTRs around 12 psi when I go rock crawling and I have t popped a bead yet...most of the people I wheel with don't have beadlocks because they are so expensive and never had the problem on the trail. For what you are doing, doesn't sound like it is worth it.

Thanks for chiming in guys. I think, at this point, beadlock wheels are more of a want rather than a need. If they weren't so dang expensive, there wouldn't be any question about it. I think I'll just stick with regular old rims until I start blowing beads.

Yeah get shit you NEED first...nice set of beadlocks and tires to match can be upwards and well over 3-4k depending what you want...that buys a whoooole lot of Jeep goodies ;-)

I would get beadlocks, and since you want to save money, watch the for sale sections and buy them used. I buy a lot of my stuff used and save a ton of money.

I think it depends on the tires and wall thickness or stiffness. I have nitto mud grapplers and ran 8 psi on aev pintlers. I had the tire climbing up on top of my front bumper and did not lose a seal. That impressed me. I would wait and get all the other goodies first. Then decide witch way you want to go. Beadlock wheels or inner beadlocks. I am to the point of deciding but from what I have seen with my setup I might just stay the way it is.
