Bessie the attention ho
Bessie went bump in a bad way today on a dirt road (thankfully) and as I glanced in the rear view mirror, I saw my rear wheel go off on a little excursion of its own! The suspected cause is spacer error. So she now has used up 2 of her lucky breaks, so to speak. I'm just curious if anyone else has had this happen to them?
And also want to thank my friends who called/texted offering assistance. I love you guys!

That stinks about your break.
By chance are you related to Trailbud?
so glad you're okay and that you were able to make it home safely. looking at the pic, it looks like someone may have over torqued the lug nuts as the wheel studs look like they sheered off. had the spacer broken off at the axle, i would have said that they may have been installed improperly but a break like this can and will happen with or without spacers if the lug nuts are over tightend. trust me, i have seen it happen before. breaks like this are common when an impact wrench is used to tighten lug nuts.
as i had mentioned on the phone, i have a set of high quality spidertrax spacers and i would be more than happy to install them for you.

Holy Cow!! That's scary! Glad you're okay. Many years ago I was driving on the freeway in the fast lane and a tire came bouncing over the barrier past me, hitting a car a few cars behind me. Later I heard on the news that the tire went through that vehicle's windshield, killing the driver.
Retorque your spacer nuts every time you remove your tires, at least at every tire rotation.
Edit:
BTW.... "the attention ho"
Love it!
