Default CB Radio Installation..

Anyone willing to do it?

CB Radio is installed, just need tweaking (they vent to the heater was moved and need it put back)

and the antenna installed. The mount is the old school mounts for mirrors so if anyone knows where I can get a Jeep mount I'll go get it. (I looked everywhere locally.)

Willing to provide beer of choice and pizza.

Do it.

If you don't get a reply or can't find one we can bring our magnet mount antenna for tomorrow...will at least buy some time. Radio shack used to be a good choice but I struck out at the one here in SM. You can try Fry's but most of the CB buys I made were on the internet.

Lol. Mullets are sweet! There is a CB store up in Orange and they do really good work. But they're all the way up here.

i don't know what is available out there, but the truck stops carry cb supplies. do you have the Pilot or Flying J truck stops? both carry a good stock of antennas.

Got the CB from Frys and got the wiring harness from Quadtrac. It was a easy install.

The only thing I'm scared about Frye's is I heard most of their stuff is refuribished. but if it works for you maybe it wouldn't be so bad?

I looked at CB and Radio stuff in Frys. They had antennas and a few radios but the employees don't know much about them. Just be prepared to know more than any employee you find.

I don't know of any truck stops in the SoCal area. They are normally a GREAT place to shop for CB stuff.

If you're willing to drive there are two stores I can think of that will have what you want or need.

Willys Electronics. They have some CB stuff. Antennas, mounts, cables, etc. They aren't too big on the radios though. The staff is knowledgable but the store is always busy. They won't have time to help you personally. The store is mostly for people that know what they want and are just stopping in to get it. They aren't hostile. They are quite friendly, but BUSY!!!

The other store is HRO Ham Radio Outlet. They have FireStik, Wilson and Hustler antennas. They have spools of cable. They have more mounts than I can describe in this post. They also have the extras like spings, Quick Disconnects, etc. They can be pricey. How helpful they are to you will be dictated by how busy the store is. If there isn't much going on, they will take the time to give you a hand. Just be forewarned...These guys are EXPERTS (OH! PUN!!!) at radio. If they tell you something should be a certain way, they are probably right.

That's true but they mark the refurbished as well as the return stock with a White Fry's Label...so if you see that stay away from it! I'll find the on-line place I ordered from and pm you the info. They are in Oregon and ship same day. For now hold onto the antenna I gave you the other day and use if for next weekend's Truckhaven run or until you replace it.
