The creekbed (where the warning sign was) was less than a foot deep and not a big deal. The deep water crossing, however, was about 3 feet deep. The water was splashing close to the windows. I'm not sure if all the recent rain has changed anything, so just be careful.

If your schedule changes we'd love to meet you and introduce you to the other SD jeepers.
We'll let you know when we plan on doing it next...will be before June 1st as that's the date the trail closes for the year.
Feel free to pm me and I'll give you directions to the trail head...sorry I don't have the gps coordinates but I'm sure our fellow SD Jeeper Moochie does so you might send him a pm if you want gps.

We did this trail the first week in Feb this year - there had been a lot of rain and the river was up. Going up we got stuck in the hole on the right side of the water - got pulled out and made it staying to the left the second try.
A beautiful trip - it did start to rain again when we got to the end of the trail so we were in sort of a hurry to get back down and across the river. The rocky decent was fun in the rain - and yes - I got stuck again on the way back across. I hugged the right side but saw the finish line and lost my concentration. But, got pulled out again - in retrospect since I had to get out with the water up to the doors - I should have walked it first. We knew people were getting hung up on the right side and as larger tire vehicles went through the hole just got deeper! A great trip - anxious to do it again!
Luckily I learn something every trail!

how did the door seals hold up?
Im curious to see how good they really are.
The door seals were fine - it sort of made me rethink what and how I have stuff stored inside. I have everything secured but there is plenty of stuff I don't want to get wet!
i,ve been thru there a few times since feb ...2wks ago.....the water is some what lower but still up to the doors.....
my jk is not lifted and had no problems....just went slow
sheep canyon was the destination and we only banged the bottom a couple of times on the rocky road up
lots of fun and plenty of company
