Coyote canyon

1. The Coyote Canyon trail has not been open to Anza for more than a decade. There is a fenced off section of several miles which is a state protected riparian area (wetlands), so you either have to enter via Borrego Springs or go around to Anza and come from the west - but you can't drive it end-to-end.
2. For those of you planning on running the Coyote Canyon trail this weekend, please remember that the temps are forecast to be around 100 degrees. I suggest that you go early in the morning when it is cooler and take lots of water and drink it. It won't do you any good when it's in the bottle.

Probably not gunna go NOAA has a heat advisory for the valleys and mountains so it's not a good idea. I'm thinking next weekend for sure should be was cooler. Over 100 is not good lol don't need heat exhaustion on a trail. Good advice by desert fox

My wife and I are considering a weekend in the desert. If we go out, we'd like to join up for a run. We spend most of our time in Truckhaven and Ocotillo Wells, but I'd like to explore Anza Borrego some!

We will be heading out tomorrow evening! Let me know if the Coyote Canyon run is on. And if anybody is interested in doing some desert exploring this weekend, let me know. Plenty of trails for all skill / Jeep-build levels!
