Weather Update:
Guess what? It's going to be warm:
Friday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 56. Breezy, with a northwest wind around 25 mph, with gusts as high as 40 mph.
Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 81. Breezy, with a northwest wind 20 to 25 mph becoming light and variable in the morning. Winds could gust as high as 35 mph.
Saturday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 59.
Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 87.
Topless Update:
This event happens to coincide with the 6th Annual Go Topless Day (https://www.facebook.com/AllThingsJeepGTD). So, go topless, and wear sunscreen!
Ramona traffic update:
There's a parade in downtown Ramona on Saturday morning, so you'll want to take a detour if you're going that way. Here's the detour info.
Join us for what will probably be the last desert trip of the season! Coyote Canyon Trail is a very scenic, easy run through some great scenery and California History. This is a great first run for your shiny new Jeep; two or three water crossings, a bumpy boulder alley, and winding sandy trails. I've done this run a bunch of times, but I don't think I'll ever get tired of it.
Here's the plan:
9:30am - Meet at the northeast area of Christmas Circle in Borrego Springs. We'll be in the dirt lot alongside the road unless it's taken up by market booths in which case we'll park on Ave Nordeste. Location on Google Maps.
10am - Leave Christmas Circle to check out the metal Jeep sculpture, then on to the trailhead for wheeling and sightseeing.
The trail is out-and-back, so plan on a long lunch and an optional hike to Cougar Canyon before heading back to pavement.
It's going to be warm out there, so bring plenty of water. Some chairs and maybe some shade might be nice for the lunch stop. If you're going on the hike up Cougar Canyon I recommend some grippy shoes.

(For those who've never been, Coyote Canyon is closed between June 1 and September 30 each year so that the bighorn sheep have uninterrupted access to the creeks.)

Put me down as a maybe. Should make for a fun day and would be my first water crossing. And by the looks of the google maps location you posted it seems that coming from Palm Springs like I am I might have to back track a bit after meeting up with you guys depending on where the trail head is. (not sure if the trailhead is west or east of the meeting point)
