Default Driveshaft Help

Yesterday I crawled under my Jeep and saw the dreaded grease splatters.
I thought I would have gotten a little more out of the shafts after the lift, but thats the way it goes I guess.

Lastnight I purchased (2) JE Reel 1310 C.V. shafts along with frnt and rear Full Traction adjustable upper control arms from David at Northridge.
I will eventually buy the lower control arms, but I'm broke.
Question is will I be okay just running the uppers contol arms for now?

Also, I'm probably going to need some help putting these new parts on.
My tools are very limited and so is my knowledge of how to do this.

I'll buy the beer.

Thanks in advance!

Greg

Greg you will need a new rear bolt for the front upper control arm. That particular bolt is blocked by the exhaust and the only way to get it out is cut it off. Order it now from Jeep. To put it back on you wonder? Just put it in fron the other side.

R33F, You will be fine running just the uppers. That is the set up I, among others have and it works fine. Let me know when you are looking to do this and I could probably help.

Let me know,

AK

Okay so all the parts are here, I just need to find someone to give me a hand with this. AK said he probably will be able to give me a hand.
I've looked everywhere and there is no write up how to install the upper links, except for the one Eddie did for the Ultimate kit.
Here are a few questions I have.

1.) In this write up he says to set the Suspension rod ends to 5/8. Is this the same if I'm only installing the uppers and not the lowers?

2.) Also I have found nothing on the install of the driveshafts themselves, I got the 1310 heavy duty shafts, so do I need a gear puller or is that only with the 1350's?

3.) Do I also need a angle finder tool so I get the proper pinion angle?

Sorry for so many questions.

Thanks for all your help guys

Well,

I said screw it and went for it. It took me most of the day and I only got the rear one installed. I think it came out pretty good. I may need to adjust the angle a little, but it's smooth going down the road at 60mph.

Any thoughts on the angle guys?

Good job!! Looks just about dead on to me.... the pinion may need to come up just a bit but if you don't have any driveline vibes, it should be okay right where it is

P.S. In the future, you should try posting questions like this in the Modified Tech Forum as it will get a lot more responses and a lot faster

Thanks for the reply WOL, I understand I should have posted this in the other section, but I thought maybe a local guy could give me a hand with this, thats why I posted it here.

Lastnight I noticed I am getting a little vibration when I first begin to roll.
I thought it was my imagination ,but if I let go of the stick I can see it the stick wabble a bit. It only happens in first gear for the first few seconds.
Once I get up to about 5mph. Then it goes away.

You think if adjust the angle a little more this will go away?
I'm I ruining anything by drive it to work and back? I just can't get to it till the weekend.

Thanks for you help!

What you've described isn't driveline vibes - they would be something closer to a buzzing feel throughout your Jeep when driving at about 30-40 MPH and then fades away the faster you go due to the speed. You should be just fine.
