Default Getting Ready To Pull The Trigger On Some Mods

Okay Guys,
I'm getting ready to do some mods and needed some advice and your opinions.
I'm would like to get the following:

Superlift 4" Lift
Goodyear Wrangler MT/R Tire 37x12.50R15
Pro Comp Series 51 Black Steel D Hole Wheel 15x10
Bestop® Highrock 4x4 Oversize Tire Carrier

My questions is, will this combo work? I know nothing about tire sizes, backspacing, etc...

How long will my stock driveshaft last with 37's and this lift?
Is it even possible without changing the driveshaft and gears right away.
Also with out regearing right away what can I look forward too.
I'm a noob so take it easy on me.
If there is something else I should be looking at let me know.
I've got about 2500 to spend.
I don't wheel that hard or that often yet, but I will eventually.

Thanks in advance.
I just don't want to f up!

"xxx x xxxx" quoted me about $3,500 for:

4" lift + allignment
17x9 extreme alloy wheels (x5)
35x 12.5/17 pro comp A/T's (x5)
(and wheel locks)

hmmmm....
and i'd have to get an oversized tire carrier too...

i'll keep an eye on your post to hear what the guys say about the driveshafts.

plus i have to re-gear too...

oh well, its still cheaper than powerboating...

For drive shafts I've heard its not as big of a problem with the 4 door. But with the 2 door don't get surprised if you have to replace them especially with a 4" lift and 37's. I've got a 3.5" lift with 33s and was told that I was pushing it. I'm planning on swapping mine out in the near future.

Is there a reason why you are going with the 4" Superlift kit? Because, 4" is a lot of lift and you're really gonna want a complete set of adjustable control arms so that you can set your caster and set your rear pinion angle once you get a new rear double cardin style drive shaft and this kit doesn't come with them.

Regarding tires, MTR's are a great tire but you really should consider picking up a set of 16x8's or 17x8's as they will keep your sidewalls from flexing too much and keep your bead on nice and tight when aired down.

As far as your driveshaft goes, I would consider getting a replacement for it sooner than later as you have a 2-door and the extreme angle that it will be in after the lift is sever enough to cause your CV boots to wear out quickly. Once compromiesed, the joints themselves will be open to the elements - not good. As for gearing, 37's are a big tire and your Jeep is gonna feel like it lost a lot of power. If you can afford it, I would recommend regearing to 5.13's as soon as you can.

If cash is an issue, you might consider getting a more complete 3" lift and 35's as it will be a great setup and then upgrade your coils, shocks, tires and gears as funds permit. Just a thought.

Well Eddie, this is what I wanted to hear.
My money is limited and I'm not sure when I will be able to afford new shafts and gears. I don't want to ruin my Jeep.
I will re-consider and let you know what I come up with.
Thanks
