ID:	364077While crawling around the Jeep tonight, I do that often, I noticed the Hood Grounding Strap. Honestly, I really don't know what purpose it serves. But, it does appear to be broken somewhere between the ground and wherever it connects to the engine near one of the heat shields on the passenger side. My question is - is this a cause for concern? Does it affect anything? The strap from the ground to the hood is still good. The other end of that same strap is where it is broken. I really can't find the exact place where it is connected to the engine. Any info is greatly appreciated.

Good question, I use the hood ground point for all of my AUX lights. Never paid attention to where it goes.

I thought that was put on to prevent arch jump in the event your hands are holding up the hood and you touch something... And as a secondary ground for anything ground to the metal?

Conclusion - not that important. Probably cause a little more radio static. I will worry about it another day. Thanks for the posts.
