introduction / wheeling questions / meetups?
So I have been a member of this site for quite some time, I usually come here when I have a question about my Rig but I have never really introduced myself.
My name is Bobby, I live in Lomita, ca and have a Red 08 jk-u X I bought used 2 years ago. I have had a lot of cars and the jeep is by far the favorite. I kicked myself for not buying one sooner. SO ar I have done a 3 inch lift, 35's on stock wheels with spydertrax spacers, 2 off road lights at the base of the windshield ,and a bilstein steering stabilizer. the future plans are bumpers ( front and rear), stock fender trim, possible re-gear, winch for new bumpers.
immediate plans are shock upgrade as i am currently running stocks with spacers, and a cb.
I grew up off reading in Azusa and riding dirt bikes ect.. after I bought my jeep we decided we liked it better than our rhino, we sold it and our toy hauler and bought a motorhome to to the jeep. I have done a lot of offroading but "jeeping" is totally new to me. i am trying to find out where you guys find trail maps? or if the trails are legal to be on? i am not looking to get into anything too crazy, i have a 5 year old son who will be going with me. also where do you guys find groups to wheel with? I don't know anyone else with a jeep sadly. i have been hesitant to go too far out solo and get my rig stuck with the wife and kid with me.
are there ever any meetups? we found a jeep show of sorts by the queen mary last year, it was pretty cool but we found it by accident. i don't know where this stuff is advertised.
