Default JK Thang Rides Again!

As some of you know a couple weeks ago on the way to the Pancake Rock run here in San Diego our JK decided to give us an "oh sh!t" moment and have the t-case break apart. After all the crappy experiences with dealerships lately combined with the fact we are far from stock and our rig is far from being a Mall Crawler, Blonda and I were convinced this was going to be an expensive repair that would most likely impact our summer plans.

Since we feared the worst with the dealerships and flagging VIN's we decided to have it towed from San Diego's East County all the way to North County's Jack Powell Jeep dealership. We knew they were mod friendly and all I could say is this, there may not be a Santa Claus but I can tell you that Christmas did come early for us and our t-case was covered under warranty.

Today we picked it up with a warning that the next one would be on our dime! Still not sure I agree with their root cause findings yet (see if you can see a difference in the moldings on the t-case)...more details to follow...

A special thanks goes to Moochie who provided his AAA towing...you really find out how bad your coverage is at the worst time!

Did you hit the t-case? or was this like a driveline angle problem?

Great to hear Frank! I was hoping they would get it back to you fast. We'll have to get out on the trails again soon to make sure it works right.

Good to see it got fixed. I remember when mine did that...my T-Case failure was MUCH more violent, though! I think they're still picking pieces of it off the 170 six months later.

Great to see her back on her feet. And now for a nice shakedown run on the Rubicon. If the case had to crack, at least it had the decency to do it with time to spare.

Good deal Frank, you got it back in time for the trip too. “Next time” What are the odds of that happening to you again? Yeah, I’m thinking positive.
