Default Marine Corps

I finally swore into the United States Marine Corps last week. I should be leaving to boot camp before the new year. My goal is to get as much as off roading done before I leave to boot camp. l

Good luck! I was supposed to swear in last year, but I decided to finish college first. Still might join. I have numerous friends in the Corps. Keep your head up no matter what and you'll be fine.

What's your MOS?

Congrats and good luck.

Tell your recruiter you want to ship out when Bravo Co picks up.

That will be the best thing he could do for you.

Your MOS sucks, just saying. Promotions suck.

Make sure you pick your 2ed and 3rd option for MOS and its something you like.. When I enlisted I was suppostly promised 0431 admin but, ended up as a 7212 stinger gunner because my first choice was full. My recruter never even told me I could pick 2nd and third choices. The recruters job is just to get you in. Most of them could care less if you actually the the mos you really thought you were going to get and wanted.

How in the sam hell mother f--k does a Maintenance Management Specialist have a "ton of opportunity" to go to jump school? What the hell is wrong with the Marine Corps? Sending pog's to jump school and we had to buy the batteries to make sure we had em for our NVG's. Then again 90% of the time nothing made sense. Do some research on that don't take your recruiter's word on anything, they're lying through their teeth 90% of the time.

My first option actually was 0231- Intelligence Specialist, but it was full. I actually put it down as my 2nd option for now. I just really want to go to boot camp already and finish my MOS school, so I can come back and finish up my Bachelors degree and apply out for Officer school, and hopefully one day get a spot in the pilot program.
